Redneck the Red-eared Slider Turtle  My friend Redneck swimming in a sea of cat food. He is happiest when there is a lot of cat food floating in the water. While the rains from Tropical Storm Andrea will likely help the years-long drought it will take more than one tropical storm to refill this lake. In 2003 the water was lapping at our back door, now it is about 1 mile distant and 12 vertical feet lower than 'normal.'  |
