Sunflowers

In some of these images I had a little fun playing around with colors, removing the colors from the sunflowers, or changing them and adding colors to the sky. They are a great reminder of the solstice. Today and for the next couple of days the sun angle is about 84.5º or nearly directly overhead. This is the most direct sun we will receive this year.

Some of these sunflowers remind me of Heart's Sunflower from their Red Velvet Car Album

Sunflower, blooming in your finest hour

You have come into your power

And you spill it over me

Such petals, standing shameless in the air

Catch the eyes of other lovers

With the colors that you wear

Above and Below I count about 20 bees on this for-some-reason preferred bloom.

I have only seen you grow

From the seed I used to know

In the burning breath of summer

The garden's afterglow

I was burning in the sun trying to get these shots. Notice there isn't a single

cloud in the sky. I adjusted the color of the sky a little to make it darker.

These flowers also reminded me of The Fith Dimension's Aquarius

I don't know why. . .they're just happy and carefree and kind of like the song. . .

Aquarius - Let the sun shine in

When the moon is in the seventh house

And Jupiter aligns with Mars

The peace will guide the planets

And love will steer the stars

This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius

Harmony and understanding, sympathy and trust abounding

No more false hoods or derisions, golden living dreams of visions

Mystic crystal revelations, and the mind's true liberations

When the moon is in the seventh house

And Jupiter aligns with Mars

The peace will guide the planets

And love will steer the stars

This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius

These images are what I image the future skies will look like with overpopulation,

climate change and a much warmer world.

I put brown hues over the blue of the current sky.

Below: I like this little red beetle with black spots.

He was keeping his distance from the bees.

Below: Even the dying sunflowers are somehow special.

Here I removed their color and added blue to the sky.
